What Is the PCM Programme?
UPSC Prelims Cum Mains Coaching UAE at IAS-EICRA provides a structured preparation
pathway for aspirants through integrated prelims and mains training, expert mentorship
and exam-focused learning.
Civil Service is not an unattainable goal — it demands the right attitude, perseverance, hard
work, and a strategic approach over raw intelligence. Analytical skills and critical thinking are
decisive factors: a student who can assess a situation and respond spontaneously will
consistently outperform one who relies only on rote learning.
The Prelims-cum-Mains Programme (PCM) at IAS-EICRA is one of our most comprehensive
offerings, specifically crafted to build each aspirant’s essential skills, knowledge base,
motivation, and the mental strength required to navigate every hurdle on the path to cracking
the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE).
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Preliminary
Examination every year. Commonly known as “Prelims,” this examination is common to all
candidates applying for the Civil Services and the Indian Forest Service. It serves as the primary
elimination test to shortlist candidates for the Civil Services (Mains) Examination.
Our PCM Programme is a holistic classroom programme — with virtual classes also available —
that fully prepares each aspirant for the Prelims, Mains, and Personality Test stages of the CSE.
Duration of the PCM Course
The PCM programme spans 9 months, with each class session lasting 3 hours. Classroom and
online sessions run simultaneously to accommodate aspirants across different locations.
The initial 4 to 6 months focus intensively on the 5 core subjects: Economics, Polity, History-Art
Culture, Geography, and Environment. The final 3 months shift emphasis to specific Mains
topics such as Ethics, Internal Security, Society, Social Justice, and Disaster Management. The
medium of instruction is Malayalam and English.
Other available durations: 6-month crash course, 1-year course, 2-year course, and 3-year course.
Repeaters’ courses are also available with loyalty-based fee deductions.

international issues keep aspirants informed about the latest developments and help sharpen
confidence, communication, and analytical skills.
One-to-One Personal Mentorship Every aspirant is paired with a veteran UPSC faculty mentor
who monitors their preparation journey, identifies shortcomings, and provides targeted guidance
to get them back on track.
Writing Skill Development Sessions The UPSC Mains is a race against time. Our dedicated
writing sessions focus on producing precise, high-quality answers at optimum speed, developing
content creation ability, language proficiency, and effective time management.
Mock Tests Every aspirant undergoes regular mock tests in both Prelims and Mains formats,
simulating a real UPSC environment with negative marking. Mock tests are the most reliable
way to gauge actual performance and identify areas for improvement.
Skill Development Sessions An exclusive add-on feature of the PCM batch, these sessions help
aspirants stay focused and motivated throughout the preparation journey by breaking the
monotony of study and reinforcing self-confidence.
Why PCM Is Indispensable for Every Fresher The UPSC website provides information — but
making sense of that information and developing a winning strategy is a separate skill
altogether. Our PCM programme equips aspirants with smart ways to gather, sort, prioritise,
understand, and present information effectively. It is designed to give students ample time to
reflect on their strengths and weaknesses and, with the support of their mentors, build and
execute the right strategy.
